The R&D department of our company organized a training session on the production bill of materials (BOM) for the folding wagon product line for the foreign trade department staff on June 8. The purpose of the training was to help the business staff better understand the components and materials that go into making the folding wagon, as well as the instructions for procuring and using them.
A bill of materials (BOM) is a structured list identifying all materials and components required to construct a product, as well as the quantities in which the materials are needed and their names, descriptions. A BOM helps organizations plan purchases of materials, estimate costs, plan for and control inventory and minimize production delays and waste.
The training session covered the details of each subassembly and part, such as their specifications, functions, sources and costs. The R&D department also demonstrated how to assemble and disassemble the camping trolley using the BOM as a guide. The business staff had an opportunity to practice using the BOM and ask questions.
The training session was well-received by the foreign trade business staff. They expressed their appreciation for learning more about the camping trolley production BOM and how it can help them improve their sales performance and customer satisfaction. They also suggested holding more training sessions on other products in the future.
